TIA Leadership Plan for WoW guild "The Insane Asylum"
Introduction
This plan is designed to provide a basis for conducting a successful WoW guild within TIA. Governance, to decide the long term direction and mangament of the guild, is performed by a body of officers and the officer voting proceedures, and is implemented to be flexible and as simple as possible. Daily administration of guild activities is conducted by one or more officers fulfilling administrative posts related to those activites. This document is supplimented by the 'Mission Statement' and 'Member's Rules and Polices'. Officers are required to know all these documents, while non-officer members are only required to read and abide by the 'Mission Statement' and 'Member's Rules and Information'.

I. Leadership Structure
A. Officers are the heart and soul of the leadership plan. Issues within the guild are decided by a simple majority vote of all officers ('officer vote' hereafter). The majority winner is the vote option with the most votes; this is in contrast to a 50%+1 majority. Officer votes will be placed on the 'WoW Officer' section of the forums as a Poll, and will be given one week to reach a majority. New officer promotions and officer dissmissals are decided by an officer vote.
B. Within this leadership plan, the Guildmaster (WoW 'Leader' rank) is an officer and lacks any real power beyond that. The GM has the administrative responsibility of inputting the guild tabard into the WoW game and promoting players to 'Officer' within the WoW guild hierarchy. The GM does NOT make these decisions, but simply carries out the will of the officer majority. The GM will also settle disputes between officers and is required to keep an active account to keep the guild alive. Guildmasters may be dissmissed by an officer vote if they are found negligent in their duties or absentee for extended time. New GM's are elected from existing officers by officer vote.
C. Officers are REQUIRED to check the officer forum at least once a week (exception with a communication that they'll be out of town), vote on standing issues, hold at least one Post (see section V on Posts), and generally participate in game with the guild. Negligent or absentee officers will be dismissed by officer vote.
D. Master Sergeants (MS) are optional positions that officers can give to non-officer players who are interested in performing a particular duty for the guild. Master Sergeants MUST have a purpose, and are not simply awards. These players may either hold a post or serve under an officer's post. If the MS is to hold a post, then the MS promotion must be nominated by an officer and approved by officer vote. If the MS is to serve under an officer in a post, as an assistant to that post, said officer has sole responsibility for the promotion. MS's may be dismissed or given different duties by officer vote. An MS may be given access to the officer forum if needed for their duties.
II. Initialization: Server and Faction Choice
The official TIA server and faction will be a Normal server (non-PvP designation) and the Horde. A specific server, if multiple options exist, will be chosen by officer vote.
III. Membership Policy
Initial members will freely begin with TIA members, the 'Mothfarmer' beta guild members, and any associated family/friends. Subsequent member addition will be as follows:
1. Anyone can recruit a new member. Potential recruits are sent to our webpage for WoW application.
2. A 'Membership and Player Liason Post' officer (see Section V) will investigate the applicant and obtain at least some familiarity and opinion of the recruit's attitude.
3. Said Post officer is responsible for placing the approved guild invite, or giving authority to do so to anther officer.
The Rules of Conduct of TIA, the guild Member's Rules and Blizzard's TOC will be upheld within the WoW guild. Violating players may be dismissed by an officer vote. A temporary, emergency dismissal may be performed by an officer in extreme cases, where permanent dismissal is performed by an officer vote. A player removal may also be superceded by the TIA Governing Council (as stated in the general TIA rules).
IV. Generosity and Assistance Policy
All guild members are extremely encouraged to help out other players with quests, items and information inorder to benefit the guild as a whole. All players should be treated equal, with no preferance based on rank or level. Good judgement is the best guide to the ammount of time and resources any player should use to assist another player. Greedy or selfish attitudes may be grounds for dismissal.
V. Officer Posts
Officer Posts are tasks given to officers to help the guild administrate daily activities. Posts are self-nominated and approved with an officer vote. If multiple officers are appointed to the same post, such officers must work together to perform their duties. A single officer may hold multiple posts. Conflicts within posts are again resolved by the GM. Master Sergeants may also be given post assignments (Section 1.D).
VI. Guild Tabard
At such point that the guild is ready and able to create a tabard, an announcement will be made to all players to suggest a tabard. Tools are available to browse tabard options. Officer discussion and vote will be used to approve a suitable tabard.

VII. Guild Ranks
Guild ranks are intended to separate and distinguish the various functioning bodies within the guild. Guild ranks are not designed to indicate in-game achievement or character level. Below are the designations for ranks provided by the WoW guild hierarchy system. Names for these ranks can be changed at any time by officer vote.
Leader - Guildmaster.
Officer - All other 'officers' as the term is used in this document.
Raider - Players with proven ability and a commitment to raiding.
Member - Regular player type, all existing players at game release.
Initiate - Newly recruited guild members after release. Promotion from Initiate to Member can be performed by any officer at any time with due discression. Significance between the first 2 ranks should be minimized to eliminate potential animosity amongst players.
VIII. Leadership Plan Amendments
This plan, or any other associated documents such as members rules, information, and policies, may be amended by a simple majority vote of the officers.
IX. Committees
In order to insure proper supervision of guild function, oversight committees can be developed. These committees consist of guild officers charged with maintaining and developing services provided to the guild. By assigning individuals the administrative responsibilities to guild members, committees will fill and maintain the duty posts as neccessary. Committees could be created to oversee recruitment, raiding, the guild bank, or whatever is deemed necessary by guild leadership.
