TIA PS Preface, Expectations, and History
After 3 and 1/2 years of competing in the tribes franchise games, TIA's leaders decided it was time to attempt to bring our skills, knowledge, and comradere to a new type of game. Planetside arrived right on time. Just as our long standing competition on the 12 man CTF Tribes 2 ladder was becoming too infrequent, Planetside opened up its beta doors to us. TIA jumped on this experimental MMO/fps hybrid with vigor. We had 10 players participating in the open beta, and everyone seemed to agree, that for a beta, this game was almost flawless. And it was fun as hell too!
TIA decided to bring its close knit, small group philosophy to this MMO game. While other outfits were spamming /b in sanctuary for new recruits, TIA decided to only allow a few to join its ranks. Thus we remain small, but we are still a force to be reckoned with. Through organization and skill, we are able to beat many times our numbers in various theaters of battle. Whether its open field war, tower siege, or totally subduing an enemy base, TIA can dominate with only a single squad. Sure we get lost in the big zerg sometimes, where 100's of friendlies and enemies drown out the actions of a single man or squad. But often times we are responsible for holding or sieging remote bases against superior number. And thats the way we like it.
Sadly, around the time of the release of the Core Combat expansion, most TIA members already retired from the game or the expansion was the last straw. Thus, TIA's Planetside days came to an end, but not without plenty of memories and good times! As long as the Sony website is maintained, you may look at the remains of the TIA Outfit.
