 2010 NCAA Tourney Final
Here's the results of the 2010 TIA NCAA Basketball Tourney:
1. Mothfarmer - 66 2. comatoast - 62 3. vindeejin - 59 4. t00ns - 59 5. Joshiyama - 58 6. Krug - 47 7. Throcktor - 47 8. Dr Moocowz - 45 9. Marut - 45
Congratulations to Mothfarmer for winning this year's pool, especially given all the craziness and upsets that happened this year. The tourney winner was crowned right at the end of the Elite 8, so this is one of the earliest wins we have had.
As per tradition, I went and found Moo to wake him up out of his slumber and told him he needed to give an interview with Mothfarmer. He grumbled and demanded a TIA pay raise, but reminded him he only has to do maybe two things a year, so we're ok for now.
Anyway, here is their interview!
Moo: I'm finally here with the 2010 TIA NCAA Basketball Tourney winner, Mothfarmer! It took a while to get an interview with him as he won the tournament so early and was off celebrating with all of the rich TIA prizes that come with this annual event! How does it feel to be this year's winner?
Mothfarmer: I feel good! The competition wasn’t as good as in the past but, a win is a win! It doesn’t suck to obtain another trophy for the ole’ Yahoo trophy case.
Moo: There were a lot of upsets in the actual tourney this year and most people could not account for them. What was your key to victory this time around?
Mothfarmer: I don’t go for the upsets much. I mainly pick the favorites and have had that strategy bite my ass in the past. This year, even with picking Duke (a pick I was ridiculed for) I won it all! Go with the favorites and if you don’t win, you’ll know you gave it a good shot anyway.
Moo: Overall, you only picked 36 of the 63 games correctly, whereas comatoast, who finished in 2nd place, picked 38 of 63. Do you have any thoughts on this or possibly to the other players who picked more games successfully than you?
Mothfarmer: Scoreboard baby! Quality over quantity every time! And, shout out to comatoast! "No one remembers WHO came in SECOND! Muhahahahah"
Moo: Do you have any final thoughts or comments?
Mothfarmer: To my wife and her picks, "I was a bit worried about the high potential point total early on yet; you did a great job of snatching defeat from the Jaws of victory! Thanks hun, I couldn’t have won without your wonderful support." To all you other LOSERS, GL next year… you’ll need it! Moth "TIA WINNER" Farmer

 TIA Site Back Online
The TIA website is back online!
The move to the new host seems to be successful. I think most things are configured correctly, but please, please, please, let me know if you see something that looks off or you find something that doesn't seem to be functioning correctly. Email notifications should be working again as well and I've re-enabled that feature.
We want to thank Kakaze again for hosting for us for free for many, many years! We really appreciate everything you did for us and wish all the best of luck!
Again, if anyone finds anything that looks off, let me know.
Thanks!

Sorry for the long, overdue delay for this.
Here's the results for 2009:
1. t00ns - 135 2. Joshiyama - 96 3. vindeejin - 91 4. comatoast - 87 5. Marut - 81 6. Mothfarmer - 80 7. Dr Moocowz - 77 8. Krug - 63
Victory was secured for t00ns when both Michigan St. and North Carolina advanced to the championship game. Congratulation to t00ns for winning this year!
After getting through a HUGE media blitz following the victory, t00ns gracious granted an interview by our resident interviewer, Moo. He was very gracious and extremely classy during the interview. And here it is!
Moo: After much searching and storming my way through a huge amount of media surroundings, I've finally made my way to the 2009 |TIA| NCAA Basketball Tourney Champion, t00ns, and he's agreed to sit down and do an interview with www.tribe-tia.org, YOUR #1 news source for TIA related fantasy news! First off, t00ns, congratulations on winning this year! How does it feel to capture your first victory?
t00ns: It feels great to get my 1st win. I'm already looking forward to my 2nd.
Moo: Did you have any particular strategy on your picks for this year?
t00ns: I ended up taking mostly the higher seed for each game. I looked at Win-Loss, PPG, etc. Didn't see any true Cinderella this year.
Moo: It was a pretty tight race near the end of the tourney. What were your thoughts on your competitors this year?
t00ns: They are all great competitors.
Moo: Do you have any final thoughts or comments?
t00ns: I really had fun this year. Look forward to being here again next year.

2009 TIA NCAA Tourney Final Four Update
Here's the standings as of the final four:
1. t00ns - 87 of 135 1. comatoast - 87 of 87 3. Marut - 81 of 81 4. Joshiyama - 80 of 96 4. Mothfarmer - 80 of 80 6. vindeejin - 75 of 139 7. Krug - 63 of 63 8. Dr Moocowz - 61 of 77
There are basically three people in the running to win this year, comatoast, t00ns, and vindeejin. Here are the scenarios for all 3 people:
comatoast (2 of 8) - If both Michigan State and Villanova make it into the finals (the actual champion does not matter), coma will tie t00ns and will have a dual champion.
t00ns (5 of 8) - The same scenario applies from comatoast's situation for a tie for the winner, but additionally if North Carolina wins the national championship, t00ns will win. There's also the scenario of Michigan State winning with North Carolina in the finals that will also give t00ns the victory.
vindeejin (3 of 8) - He will be crowned the winner if Villanova wins the championship with Connecticut in the finals OR Connecticut simply wins the championship.
So that's our scenarios and looks like t00ns has the most chance. The potential for the first ever tie is very possible, which will also mean the first ever multiple person interview! The Final Four begins on April 4th and the championship game on April 6th. Stay tuned to find out who the winner(s) will be and thanks again to everyone who participated this year!

2009 TIA NCAA Tourney Sweet 16 Update
The 2009 NCAA Basketball Tourney has kicked off and so has our annual event. Round 2 action of the tourney has been completed and here is our current standings (as well as participants).
1. Joshiyama - 52 of 180 1. Mothfarmer - 52 of 180 3. comatoast - 51 of 179 3. Krug - 51 of 179 3. t00ns - 51 of 179 6. Marut - 45 of 169 7. vindeejin - 43 of 167 8. Dr Moocowz - 41 of 149
Its a pretty tight race so far and still is anyone's for the taking (at least it is for me, I still have a remote chance I figure if I can still win in last place, so can anyone else. ) Sweet 16 action resumes on Thursday this week. Who will win this year's tourney? Who is going to get the exclusive interview with Moo? Keep checking the TIA site for updates and thanks to everyone who participated in this year's event!
